This week we helped Kat create her dream wedding centerpiece. Here is Kat’s request:

“The wedding will be on 10/21/17 in Philadelphia and is a smaller intimate affair of 50 guests. My fiance and I have been together for 10 years so this wedding has been a long time coming. My father passed away 3 years ago and my fiance’s father’s health is quickly declining. We want to make this an event extra special for our family and friends. We are going the extra mile with this wedding and really want to put the finishing touch with the centerpieces.”

Well Kat we are more than happy to help! Special thanks to our friends at Paper Mart for sponsored products that helped bring this community member’s vision to life!

Let’s Get Started:

Supplies:

Directions:

STEP 1: Cut an opening on the side of your half foam dome. This will allow you to slide your White LED Light’s battery pack through.

STEP 2: Add 6-8 white hydrangeas, 6-8 large white peonies roses, 8-10 medium roses to your foam dome. Now thread LED lights throughout the flowers.

STEP 3: Add 4-6 Wisteria stems and 3-5 orchids to your half foam dome.

STEP 4: Wrap your Silver Super Non Glitter Ribbon around your wooden dowel. Be sure to use hot glue to secure the ribbon.

STEP 5: Place your wooden dowel on top of your green foam and then trace around your wooden dowel with a sharpie, cut the traced area with an X-acto Knife.Place your green foam on top of your glass cylinder. Apply hot glue to the middle part of your green foam and then insert wooden dowel.

STEP 6: Now place your cut out green foam piece on top of your foam disc, trace around green foam with a Sharpie, and cut out traced circle with an X-acto knife.

STEP 7: Take 4 trimmed down floral pins and attach to your jewel garland strands, then attach to your foam disc. Attach clear jewelry wire to your glass globes, and then attach to foam disc.

Let’s make a flower ball:

STEP 8: To create a flower ball, attach three flowers together using jewelry wire and hot glue and then add those to your foam disc. Make 3-6 of these and then add to your foam disc, then attach foam rose to LED lights.

STEP 9: Add white roses and white hydrangeas to your foam disc and then hot glue the rim of your foam dome and attach to your foam disc and then fill in the empty spaces with white roses.

THE FINAL STEP

STEP 10: Set the table!

I absolutely love how this wedding centerpiece turned out! If you like the outcome please let us know in the comments below? Also share your ideas on what you would have done differently?

  1. Love this idea. Having my own wedding next year. I’m trying to make this item but need to know where you got the light with the battery? Is there a website or a store. Thanks

  2. Hi! The opening in the back needs to be large enough to remove the battery pack and turn on the lights. Once you place the battery pack back into the dome then use a couple of flowers to cover the opening.
