How To Make Mason Jar Party Decorations

Directions:

STEP 1: Tape off the bottom of the 16 oz mason jar with painter’s tape or masking tape. Paint the bottom of the jar with black acrylic paint. Be sure the mason jar you use is clear and does not have any designs on it, as the designs will conflict with the embellishments you will add later.

Remove the Tape

STEP 2: Remove the tape once the paint is dry, which will take 20 minutes or so. Now it’s time to make the suspenders for the centerpiece using black gem strip stickers. Cut the gem strip down to 4-inch strips and adhere them to the jar as they are self-adhesive.

Apply Modge Podge and Gold Glitter to the Wooden Buttons

STEP 3: Next, take two 28 mm wooden buttons, apply mod podge to them, and then sprinkle on fine gold glitter. Attach the buttons to the ends of the suspenders with hot glue. Fill the mason jars with gold glitter balls.

Attach the Hydrangeas, Top Hat, and Bow

STEP 4: If the mason jar lid comes in two pieces, use hot glue to adhere the pieces together, so it does not come apart when the hydrangeas are added. Hot glue 4-6 hydrangeas to the mason jar lid. Once the lid is dry, screw the lid onto the mason jar. Hot glue the gold gem strip around the top hat. Attach the bow tie and top hat using hot glue.

THE FINAL STEPS!

STEP 5: Pair the mason jar centerpiece with 9-inch glass vases filled with black rocks and floating candles. Lastly, set the table!
