Inspired by our community member Alecia, join us this week as we take a step away from the traditional and build this awesome Flower Tower Centerpiece. Who says that you need a vase!

STEP 1: Let’s start with the base of our stand. Cut two 1 1/2 inch circles on each side about an inch away from the edges of your poplar board. Make sure you cut to support your coupling, you don’t want the board to go all the way through, you want it to sit on your coupling.
STEP 2: Insert your PVC Pipe into each of your couplings. For a secure hold, I suggest you add liquid nail to the space in between the coupling and the poplar board.
STEP 3: For the top off your stand, cut out two 1 inch squares on each side about an inch away from the edges of your poplar board. This way your clean out plugs will sit flush into those squares. Now turn your poplar board over and screw 3 screw eye hooks into your poplar board, distancing them about 3 inches from each other. This allows you to hang your tea light holders from your centerpiece.
STEP 4: To further stabilize your stand, fill the PVC pipe halfway up with sand. Be sure to secure the bottom by adding newspaper or any other type of plug and tape around to secure. Now add your clean out plugs to the top of your stand and attach your poplar board.
STEP 5: It’s now time to spray paint. Spray paint your entire stand and let it dry overnight. Prior to spray painting your PVC pipes, use finger nail polish remover to remove writing, if you do not do so prior to spray painting, a runny colored film will show.
STEP 6: Add 16-24 orchids, 12-16 large roses, 28-32 hyacinth stems to your styrofoam board.
STEP 6: Follow step 5 to create your second board, now hot glue or use E6000 adhesive to secure your styrofoam boards to the top of your stand.
STEP 7: Add tea lights to each tea light holder, hot glue an orchid to tea light holder. Now attach hanging tea lights to eye hooks. Lastly, attach jewel garland to your styrofoam board using floral pins.
