How To Make a DIY Tall Tropical Palm Tree Wedding Centerpiece

Directions:

STEP 1: Cut the wooden dowel down to 14 inches. Paint the wooden dowel green. Leave about an inch at the end of the wooden dowel unpainted. Also paint the outside rim of the round wood plaque green to match the palm leaves. Insert the unpainted end of the wooden dowel into the half foam ball to make a hole. Remove the wooden dowel and set it aside for now.

Insert the Wooden Dowel in the Half Foam Dome Hole from Step 1

STEP 2: Glue the foam half dome to the wooden plaque using wood glue. Let it set for about 10 minutes. Apply hot glue to the hole you created in the middle of the half foam dome and then attach the wooden dowel inside the hole.

Attach the Palm Leaves

STEP 3: Insert the palm leaves, four at a time, about a half an inch to an inch inside the half foam ball. Then wrap the 4 palm leaves with floral wire to the wooden dowel. Continue this pattern until 16 palm leaves are attached. Make sure the floral wire is below the 7 inch mark, so you can easily adjust the palm leaves. Adjust the palm leaves to your desired fullness.

Add the Flowers

STEP 4:  Attach three fern picks, 4-6 stormy blue hydrangea picks, 4-6 purple hydrangea picks, 3-5 large blue iris blossoms, 6-8 plumeria blossoms, 4-6 phalaenopsis orchid stem blossoms to the half foam ball. Fill in any empty spots with hydrangea blossoms.
