Pairing navy blue and plum together for a wedding is a beautiful color combination to be admired. I love these colors together, and was thrilled when i received a project request to create what I call a bountiful navy blue and plum wedding centerpiece for a bride-to-be. The rich colors have a dramatic appearance and scream elegance! To help with our bride-to-be’s budget, I created a $2 DIY Dollar Tree Wedding Vase. That wedding hack alone will save her a ton of money to go towards other things for her wedding. The added tealights give this wedding centerpiece a little extra pizazz. So let’s get started! How To Make DIY Bountiful Navy Blue and Plum Wedding Centerpieces
Directions:
STEP 1: The first step is to make the $2 vase. To do this, flip the 4 inch candleholder over and apply E6000 adhesive to the bottom of the candleholder. Next attach the 9 inch vase on top of the 4 inch candleholder.
Insert the Tealight in the Foam Disc
STEP 2: Turn the 9 inch vase over from step 1 and press it down in the 4.8 inch foam disc to make an indention. The gem garland and the tea light will be placed in the center on the indented circle. Place the rim of the tealight in the middle of the indented circle and trace around it with a pen. Cut a little bit inside the circle that you traced out with a foam cutter to ensure your tealight will not fall out once it is placed inside the cutout. Place the tealight inside the cut-out circle.
Attach the Gem Garland Strands
STEP 3: Clip the floral pins in half and then attach 7 inch gem garland strands to the inner circle you created on the foam disc from Step 2 using the clipped floral pins.
Tip: I used a total of ten 7 inch garland strands so they can dangle beautifully inside the vase.
Hot Glue the Foam Disc to the 9 inch Vase Rim
STEP 4: Apply hot glue to the rim of the 9 inch vase and then gently place the gem garland inside the vase and attach the foam disc to the 9 inch vase rim. Check out the video above to see this step.
Cut the 4 inch Styrofoam Ball in Half
STEP 5: Use a foam cutter and cut the 4 inch styrofoam foam ball in half. Then attach one of the foam disc halves using floral pins.
Add the Flowers
STEP 6: Next attach 10-14 hydrangea blossoms around the foam disc. Attach an additional 15-18 hydrangea blossoms, 12-15 plum hydrangeas, 6-8 navy roses, 6-10 coral blossoms, and 6-8 double ruffle stems to the half foam ball.
