How To Make a Willow and Birch Branch Wedding Centerpiece

Directions:

STEP 1: First we are going to create the base for our centerpiece. Take your garden bowl and place the opening on top of your 9 inch foam disc. Trace around your bowl and then trim down your foam disc to about 7 1/4 inches with your foam cutter. Put gem stones in your garden bowl as a weight for your wedding centerpiece and then place your foam disc on top.

It’s Time to Build Our Tree

STEP 2: Place your 26 inch birch branch in the center of your foam disc and seal it with hot glue and allow it to dry for 30 minutes. Now trim down your willow branches to 23 inches. Apply hot glue to the end of your willow branches and place them around your birch branch. Add as many willow branches as you would like.

Pull the willow branches closer to your birch branch using 18 gauge floral wire. Twist your floral wire in the back, clip the ends and tuck it right underneath one of the willow branches.

Hot glue your foam ball to your birch branch

STEP 3: Cut a hole in the center of your 5 inch foam ball. Apply hot glue to the top of your birch branch. Attach your foam ball to your birch branch and let it dry for 15 minutes.

Cut your moss floral wire and attach it to your foam ball

STEP 4: Take your moss floral wire and cut it into 4 inch strips. Bend one side of your strips into a hook and then apply hot glue to the end and place them into your 5 inch foam ball.

TIP: You may want to view the tutorial video below to clearly see this step.

Dazzle up your tree with gem garland

STEP 5: Once all your hooks are attached, drape your gem garland in differing lengths (short and long) to your moss floral wire. Use a dab of hot glue to secure your gem garland.

TIP: Prior to adding your hot glue, make sure you like the placement of your gem garland.

Add candle votive holders filled with LED tea lights and pink roses

STEP 6: Pull your pink rose apart and grab two sections of your rose petals. Fold them in half and cut out the center. This leaves you with eight petals that you will now place in your candle votive holder along with your LED tea light.

Attach 3-5 votive candle holders with fishing wire to your moss floral wire.

Attach flowers to your 5 inch foam ball

STEP 7: Attach 6-8 green and 6-8 pink hydrangea heads, 4-6 white and 4-6 pink peonies blossoms to your foam ball. Fill in any empty spaces with petitie white or pink roses and baby’s breath.

Finish the base of your centerpiece with moss and roses

STEP 8: Add pieces of moss to the foam disc of your base by adding hot glue to your foam disc. Place your moss on top of your hot glue. If you want it to look as though moss is growing on your tree, glue smaller pieces to the inside of the trunk (to your birch branch).

For a more natural look, extend the moss over the edge of your foam disc and attach three roses to your foam disc.

THE FINAL STEP!

STEP 9: SET THE TABLE!

I absolutely love how this willow and birch branch wedding centerpiece turned out! The outcome is amazing and will definitely add that extra special touch to any wedding!
